Onam is a very important and loved festival in Kerala, a state known for its rich culture and traditions. People celebrate Onam to welcome King Mahabali, a kind ruler who brought happiness and prosperity to everyone. It is also a harvest festival, thanking nature for its blessings and celebrating the season of plenty.

At Elixr Labs, Ustava 2024 was a wonderful way to celebrate Onam and grow closer as a team. Onam is not just about fun, it’s about coming together, sharing, and honouring our culture. By celebrating Onam at work, we created a happy and welcoming place where everyone felt included and connected, showing the true meaning of the festival.

A Fun-Filled Day of Activities and Engagement

The event was full of fun and energy, showing the festive spirit of Onam. Everyone was happy and excited as the celebration began. There were traditional games, music, and performances that gave our team a chance to enjoy and experience Kerala's colourful culture.

The best part of the day was the traditional Onam games. These games played for many years during Onam, are not just about winning but about having fun together. Games like Tug of War and the Pookalam contest brought out everyone’s playful side. They helped the team have fun, make friends, and enjoy special moments together.

The celebration was made even more special with music and performances. The sound of traditional Kerala drums, called Thayambaka, and folk songs filled the air with joy. Utsava 2024 also featured beautiful traditional dances like Kathakali and Mohiniyattam that showcased the rich culture of Kerala. Each piece of the event reminded us of the true essence of Kerala’s traditions that brings people together, cherishes artistic heritage, and celebrates the beauty of community and culture.

The Onam Feast: A Taste of Tradition

No Onam celebration is complete without a big feast, and we ensured our team had the full experience at Elixr Labs. The traditional Onam Sadya was the star of the event! This special meal served on a banana leaf, had many tasty vegetarian dishes like sambar, avial, thoran, pachadi, and the sweet payasam for dessert. Everyone loved it!

The Onam Sadya was more than just food—it was a way to celebrate Kerala's traditions. Eating this special meal together with our team felt really special. We got to enjoy the delicious flavours of Kerala and celebrate the different cultures in our group. Sitting down and sharing the meal brought everyone closer, making the celebration even better!

What made Ustava 2024 so special was how it brought everyone on our team closer. On our busy work days, we sometimes forget to take a break and have fun. This Onam celebration lets us celebrate, share smiles, and make happy memories together. People from different teams came together, making the day even more joyful.
